What I got our Chicago sports teams for Christmas.

The holidays are a wonderful time of happiness and giving. The lights are bright and spirits are high. This year I’m feeling extra festive. Maybe it’s because the eggnog is flowing and Home Alone is on HBO or maybe it’s because my body is rapidly morphing into a shape that can only be described as mall Santa-esque. Here’s what we missed from the Blackhawks parade while we were stuck at work.


Being a semi responsible adult sucks. I knew I wouldn’t be able to take off work today and convinced myself last night I wasn’t missing much. “Who cares about the parade, we got the cup and that’s what matters.” “Too many people, too many headaches.” “If you’ve been to one parade you’ve been to them all.” These are all things I told myself. 

That shit didn’t work. Right around 9:00am while my Twitter and Facebook feeds were being flooded by red and black. The Blackhawks rally FOMO hit me like a Brent Seabrook slap shot to the gut. So here I sit collecting all the awesome shots of the best city in the world celebrating the best hockey team in the world.

Things I’m Grateful For Now That Hockey Is Over!

Its been a long two months. Very long. But in the end it was worth it. Hawks finally won it all and I can go back to living my normal boring life. You all don’t understand. Hockey playoffs are a ritual full of crazy off the wall traditions and games. We have a 6 foot blackhawks shot ski. We have a siren. We have a horn. We have the “Canley Cup”. We have the dagger. But most importantly… we have tequila. Lots and lots of tequila.
